We are thrilled to announce that Stephane Etienne of the Australia-based WorldriderZ will join the 10km race during the 3rd annual Alive to Strive Race on April 28th.
Stephane and the WorldriderZ are strong supporters of people here in the Ottawa region living with kidney disease. This past February, the WorldriderZ spent time with Ottawa kidney patients, sharing moments of hope and energy. During this visit, Stephane attempted to ride 12 hours straight (6am to 6pm) on a fitness bike at Carlingwood Mall to raise awareness for organ donation.
“I am looking forward to taking part in the Alive to Strive race to promote the fight against chronic kidney disease and the need for organ donation, and to have a great time among hundreds of people wanting to enjoy this moment,” says Stephane. “Hopefully, I can be up for this physical challenge and run the 10 km race with no breaks!”
Stephane created the WorldriderZ project in 2010 to raise awareness about chronic kidney disease and organ donation. “One can help achieve results, reach and set goals, but ALL unified we can help make a real difference,” added Stephane. “Together strong, we will help doctors in their care, patients to overcome their daily difficult routine and create awareness to prevent future generations from this terrible disease.”
His team of motorcyclists have travelled around the globe, meeting with doctors, nurses and kidney patients. Their journey created a hit TV series on the Discovery Channel. During their North American tour in 2012, the WorldriderZ visited the Kidney Research Centre (KRC) and the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine in August 2012.
Register now for the Alive to Strive 2013 Race, and join us and the WorldriderZ when we lace up our running shoes to support those living with chronic kidney disease!
