If you’re on dialysis, seemingly simple things like a family vacation get a lot more complicated. That’s why Lions Camp Dorset is a very special place.
With a history dating back to 1972, Camp Dorset is a collection of cottages in the “heart of Ontario’s vacationland” that also offers a state-of-the-art dialysis treatment facility onsite; it’s a place where dialysis patients and their families can experience a vacation together.
Last year, as a result of the money Alive to Strive Race participants raised for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 21 patients were sponsored to attend Camp Dorset with their families. We can’t wait to see what good use the money raised this year will go to!
Our 2017 Alive to Strive Race is coming up on Sunday, April 30. People of all fitness levels and experience are welcome. This annual fundraiser enables us to continue our work supporting people living with chronic kidney disease in the Ottawa community. We also provide the opportunity for participants to support one of our partner charities.
