Mother Nature won’t get me or the team down. Nope, no way. Freezing rain, snow, wind, hail or ice will not stop us from training.
Once again, we used the seven-story building as our training playground while the ice storm raged outside. The strength training I have been incorporating into every session is paying off: I was able to take the stairs going up two at a time (unheard of for me). Woo-hoooo! I will bask in the small victories!
By the end of the hour, I was pleasantly tired and mentally stress-free – that has not happened in a long while.
I am grateful for this training. Only three more sessions until race day – April 29! How did that sneak up so fast?
Deborah is participating in our 5km training sessions in preparation for this year’s Alive to Strive Race on April 29. She has been blogging about her training as she progresses towards race day.
